Night time secrets

I have a dark secret (because it happens at night) and it's worse that sneaking chocolate and lollies from the kids' stash in the pantry. Sometimes when Izzie wakes up in the night I get her up with me and we go on adventures.

I put her on my back and wrap a blanket around her like I'm a big African mama. She hangs there chimp like with just her head sticking out and her arms holding my shoulders. And a big grin. She loves it!

We go out into the Otane streets and walk the dogs around the block. She chats to me and sings. Instead of "I want a.." she says "Ayna..." "Ayna dink o water" She says and we sneak into the kitchen.

I put her on the bench and pour the drinks. We swallow cool water in the dark room. And it's very quiet with everyone else asleep.

After a little while she whispers: "Ayna Pop" And we go and find her dummy. Then "Ayna sleep mummy" and I put her back to bed.

Shhhh don't tell anyone about our secret wanderings.
